Formerly The Spartan, the IFW’s organizational magazine took on the name of The IFW Monthly before settling as The International Wargamer.

This periodical was an early magazine published through the International Federation of Wargaming that operated in the late 60’s and into the 70’s. The IFW was founded by Bill Speer, Scott Duncan, and Gary Gygax. The organization claims notoriety for sponsoring the earliest Gen Cons in Lake Geneva.
